Polymer additives

This field is characterized by several product categories. Here are our strengths:

• Carbodiimide based hydrolysis stabilizers
  Our carbodiimides act as hydrolysis stabilizers in polyesters, polyamides or polyesterol-based polyurethanes by intercepting acid or water and absorbing them permanently. This process increases the durability of the treated polymer. RASCHIG has developed various monomeric and polymeric carbodiimides which are available in powder form, as a master batch or as a granulate, providing the correct hydrolysis protection for every requirement.

 

• Epichlorohydrin derivates - glycidic ester
  Epoxy-functionalized compounds may be found in a variety of applications in the manufacturing industry. They are employed as reactive diluents in epoxy resins. Several monofuntional glycidic ethers may be used as stabilizers for chlorinated hydrocarbons, preventing the formation of Chloridhydrogen. Polyfunctional glycidic ethers are used as polymer curing agents or as adhesion promoters in industrial fiber coating (e.g. for tire cords and conveyor belts).

 

• Functional monomers
  RASCHIG develops and manufactures various functional monomers such as (meth)acrylate monomers with sulphonate groups as well as zwitterionic methacrylate monomers and meta acryl amide monomers using propansultone chemistry. Successful application areas for these specialty chemicals include hydrogels in the medical field and the new generation of contact lenses. Functional monomers offer unique possibilities, all of which have not yet been fully explored. RASCHIG offers it's excellent know how in this field for further research and development.

 

• Sulfopropylated amines and betainic polyols
  RASCHIG offers these products for application in aqueous PU dispersions, paints and lacquers as well as in water-based adhesives and in the leather coating industry. Sulfopropylated amines act for example, as chain extenders, and provide excellent stabilization of aqueous PU dispersions. Betainic polyols are independent in pH and function as internal dispersing agents.
